Know were you were. good shit. The old Honda's were like an old Holden in the day. You could always pick one up for a few hundred dollars to just get ya around. Over time, with travels and shit have had 6 of the old dogs. When they came out I related them to an electric motorcyle as they were quiet, smooth and all that shit compared to what we rode then.
Little did we know there would actually be electric mc,s.
Riding yesterday in central Vic, when got home eyes were stinging from the smokein the air.Tassie is a blast to ride around, road engineers must ave been riders.

was just thinking back, in the early 1970's a friend got back from Vietnam, bought a new Honda 750/4, then road it around Australia sleeping in a swag, cost $120 for fuel.

Gee, in the early seventies I was too young to drive.
Do remember mum cursing at a petrol station because "super" was SIXTY cents a gallon when filling up the Simca one day.

well you will be kicking yourself to know Honda 750/4 was as cheap as chips those days. fuel was that cheap I did not even know how much it was a gallon ( 4.54L) in 67 I had a 179/ EH ute my mate was winging when I put $2 to fill the tank, he said he has never put more than $1 in his car. But my EH had twin carb's x2 headers. we also did not get out of the car, just pull the hood so the servo attendant could lift the hood check water & oil then check the tyre pressure, while they filled the tank. then would come over to u window & get payed give you change. the gulf war stuffed all that up, as they fitted self service pumps, so they could limit amount of fuel you could have from counter. ( fuel rationing ). used to go down Redfern Motorcycles too.
