I think that was s what happened to start it all GM, but he is claiming it is to stop people from sharing the map online.
O told him all I really wanted was the VE tables set correctly, as that is the bit I couldn't do.
I think he basically just used what I had and enriched it where it was a little lean.
As I said 2 t does go OK, but it could go a bit harder.

The real bastard is you can't save that corrupted file and put it back in later, so you cant try another one without losing what you have now, I'd have a crack at it for you if you were keen but you would have no piece of mind on being able to go back, the tuning bloke would still have an uncorrupted copy though, ie the one he programmed in and pulled the pin on while it was saving to the VCI.
Sorry for the hijack Speedzter, this shit bugs me a bit for some reason.

The reality is the tuner can do what he wants, but he needs to make it clear before the job.
Then its up to people to go ahead or not.

    Regarding the 999-6a and CVO's, quote from Jamie@FM :
".230/.225 lift @ TDC in a stock CVO head gives you only about .040 valve/valve"

Maybe a "tuner" can explain why they corrupt the file. Some use this site!!
"A suspicious activity that would make me run a mile, lots do it claiming intellectual property rights, I call bullshit, more likely scared someone would disseminate their tune and see what little they really did. It's not rocket science, nothing to hide."

Every bike is different right, so tune cant be used on other bike. Maybe its not like that, maybe its like above.

Mate I've always found it hard to understand exactly what you are trying to say, maybe it's a mental deficiency on my part but I just don't know, are you trying to tell me out of the goodness of their hearts, tuners that pull the plug on the VCI downloads are actually trying to protect some poor sap that thinks that particular calibration will be perfect for their bike that hasn't been tuned but has the same/similar parts? We been playing this game a long time robots, I know what I'm doing, like it or not.

I suspect there's probably some ego in locking tunes. Many tuners would probably think they know better than everyone else and don't want to give their "secrets" away (and in a few cases that would be correct). Others are probably insecure and scared that someone might re-tune their tune and realise how ordinary they actually are. Then there would be those who are worried someone else will fiddle with their tune, make it worse and hurt the engine then they cop the blame so they lock it to protect themselves.
I had my modified LS1 Commodore tuned and back for adjustments by a very well known tuner who couldn't get low speed driveability right and gave me the bullshit excuse of it having an aftermarket throttle body. A guy I met from an Australian forum had a look at it for me (it wasn't locked fortunately) and fixed it very easily.

I had my suspicions the big guns weren't what they could be and he confirmed it, the car drove like stock after he re-tuned it, I didn't realise how bad it actually was until it was fixed.
