so I have a 2020 trike with the boom box stereo I've set the unit in the helmet but having trouble with the wire connection to the helmet as in the connection is not good when you move your head it cuts in and out anyone else had this problem I know the Americans have and blamed the Chinese quality ( so who makes apple I phone ) so thinking to go blue tooth I have a interphone intercom in my other pair of helmets I'm wondering just to go with them what's your thoughts

Tony. Persist. The problem is probably going to be with the plug that goes into the helmet. It is a tight complicated fit. The cabling that goes into the tank seems so much easier by comparison.
Going WHIM and compatible Bluetooth for the partner is going to set you back "well" over a thousand.
Having said that, Wife hates the hard speakers in her Harley helmet and I had to take them out. So we don't talk any more.
I fitted / made an adapter cable so I could use the headset that came with my Bluetooth set up I use on another bike

yes I have tried pushing in and wont go any further I saw a headset from America called imc which seems to be the go as far as wired goes for about $120 each set delivered to aus it has a slim line speaker and yes I agree with your wife they are uncomfortable and has a more flexible 7 pin plug at the helmet im going back to HD tomorrow and see what they say

    Tony,

We had the same issue with our Ultra when we first bought it. We finally narrowed it down to the fact that the plug and socket on the helmet are an extremely tight fit. You have to push it in as hard as you can and then push it a little harder again. I thought that maybe putting a little silicone grease on the plug may help but stayed away from this as I thought it may also help it just slide out again. This was very frustrating in the beginning and we looked at the Bluetooth setup as well but after persisting with the wired unit we are happy now.

After getting the plug in properly we do not have an issue for the most of the time but if it does come out it is just a matter of pushing it in again. We have done about 36000 km in the last 18 months and it has probably come loose two or three times.

By the way was that you at Morgan yesterday parked out front of the pub? Saw a nice looking new trike there yesterday.

    Cheers

    Wade

Not trying to be smart, but you are aware there's a little keyway on the plug.
You could swap over cables / helmets with the missus.

Great result. Did you go into ABW?
I remember buying a Honda Accord. 1 day in, I couldn’t get the shifter out of park. Rang the dealer all frustrated who reminded me I had to put my foot on the brake!  Wtf?  Should have read the manual.

    Tony,

Good to hear you got it sorted mate. Ours gave me the total shites when we first bought our bike and to make it worse our first ride was from Brisbane to Adelaide. Four days of frigging around on the side of the road and in motel rooms trying to work out what was going on. I was ready to throw the whole thing in the bin by the time I got home. Glad I persisted though.

Yes was a crap day for a ride yesterday but still had a good time with a cold beer and good burger at the pub in Morgan.

    Cheers
