    Hi
Ive got an old TC 88 Fatboy with 75 000 kms on her

All going perfect except having to replace the starter motor . Like could there a be a more difficult to house the starter motor ??

Anyway ...........when I'm at the top end ( say 75% of the applicable engine range ) when accelerating
    - I get what sounds to be "metallic rattle" vibe up through the fuel tank
    - It  signs off when I back off the throttle

Im not sure if that's  anything to be  concerned about but Id really appreciate any advice from others on this Forum that might have an idea of what it is and if it requires urgent attention .
I can assure everyone that is NOT the fuel cap rattling

Other than that its been a great ride and hope she does another 100,000 Kms and more

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Check the gas tank mount bolts mainly the front one.

    Cheers.

Do you get the rattle whilst revving with the bike stationary?

    Loose heat shield ?
Best bet is to just go over all the fasteners, good idea to check em every now and then anyway.

You might be able to recreate in a lower gear at the right rpm....  Loose heat shield, loose gas tank cap?

    Fork ….me too .

Doubt its the tensioner but i'll have a look in theer plus  need to check on the C Chain sliders . Never did go the gear driven cams route - and last time i checked they were near perfect
