Buying a fat Bob - 107 or 114 (stage III)

Hey guys, first post here! I've enjoyed reading through these forums as a guest and seems to be a wealth of information, but I couldn't find anything on this specific topic:
So I'm in the market for a M8 Fat bob, and after test riding a stage 1 114, and knowing what I'm like, I'll probably end up installing a stage 3 kit for some extra punch. The dilemma is, the stage 3 for the 107 > 114, and 114 > 117 put out very similar power and torque, but obviously the 107 retails for much less.

Am I better off saving 4k and getting a 107 and upgrading? Having a stage 3 107 for the same price as a 114?

I know ABS comes standard on the 114, don't think there's any other differences. Would love to hear some thoughts. Hope I've posted this in the right place.

    Cheers!

If it was me, and engine work was a definite in the future, I'd be going the 107 and dropping a Leading Edge 125 kit in it.
Also, from  a Bro Science perspective  (i.e, my own impression not based on any facts lol), the Difference between the 107 and 114 is in the crank, more stroke.

If you can achieve the similar TQ and HP figures, wouldn't it be better to do that on a shorter stroke engine where the pistons speeds won't be as high?

Also, pretty sure all the 107's have ABS standard too.

Welcome I agree with JohnR , short stroke larger bore. As lower piston speed at given rev. Those 125 go hard

Slightly different angle - what have you been quoted for prices (actual written)?
I ask as some dealers had the 114 for $25,990 in October and they would be more keen soon enough to want to move MY19 models for a good price. And with the cheap finance. You sure on the $4000 difference?
Surely the 114 would be the better platform and build on it when you get bored in a bit.

    I chose a 107 instead of 114.
Not alot of difference in power! Pluss im sure a 107 stage 4 should suffice in everyday street riding/weekend warrior.
To me was a bit like a choice between a 253 and 308 holden V8.  Same blocks. 308 more power! But 253 stronger engine.
107 a little more frisky on the throttle, but that's what i wanted.
Only rumour i heard is the 107 will be discontinued at a later date???

Thanks for the input guys, some interesting food for thought. I was only thinking of going for the HD performance package (stage 3) to keep the warranty, and for longevity. Probably also helps with resale value later down the track. So... If for similar money I could have a Stage III 114, there doesn't seem to be any downside. I'll speak to my local dealer soon and see what they say. I've uploaded the 2 HD graphs just for interest sake.

No question to me 114, especially when you can ride away at $25,990 tops for a stock one.

Dont believe to much on those HD graphs as an end result.
With a good tune should be able to go well above those figures.
My 103 sits at 104hp and 98ftlb and its only has high comp pistons, cams, exhaust and a tune
