    Hi All,
I have a circa 1984 wide glide shovel head I’m looking to sell, but know nothing about HDs.  The bike was imported from the states (around 30 odd years ago) with about 16k miles on it and has never been ridden in Australia.  For the last 15 years, it hasn’t been started and has been stored covered in a shed.  I’ve attached a few photos and would be very grateful for advice on how much it would be worth and the best way to sell it.
    Thanks for reading!
    Cheers

Best way to sell it for maximum profit would be go over the whole thing, new fluids, tyres etc etc. Get it running and registered so the buyer knows there's no issues with rego, different states have different rules re full registration or club rego.
Best way to sell it quickly is put a good price on it and someone will buy it as is.

Agree with the sell it quickly bit.... Looking at the pics I recon it would be a pretty hefty investment (you could easily sink $5k into the repairs alone) to get that thing any where near a fit state for Roadworthy and Rego though so it may be easier to sell as is to someone who will then make it a 'labour of love' to get back on the road.  Has it ever been regoed in AU?  If not then that may present issues down the track (no idea on this though, just throwing it out there)

    Still, its a nice bike - for a Shov..lol

Thanks for the responses, good to get a sense of what people think.  It’s never been registered in Australia.
Any idea what would be a reasonable price for it?

Agree with Tussuck, youll sink a good amount of money into that to get it up to scratch. While itll sell for more, youll profit less.
It's looks pretty complete, maybe chuck it up for 6-8k and see what your best offer is?

    So I would say $5k - $7k tops.
It takes a special breed to look after a shovel nowadays.  Too many snowflakes who just ride into the dealer for fixes.
