scuzz, good on you for following through and sticking up for your self, keep it going man, even as disheartened you may feel, your doing a great job.
Dealers are sooo nice pre-purchase, but when they have the dollars in their tin, and your riding off into the sunset with that warm fuzzy feeling, with the glazed eyes for the new jigger you've purchased, lets be blunt, they really don't give a fuck.
GM don't mention modern type electronic gear laden vehicles. Ma 2013 BT50 cannot remove the ignition key unless I take the ignition fuse out from one of the fuse blocks. Is an  electronic issue, that I can't work out, as me and electrical shit do not bond, except via shorts and fusion. Good luck scuzz, hang in there man.

And go Stainless where you can with things....  I have and polished the crap out of all the fittings and they still look sweet 20years later.

He’s lucky the dealer tested the oil, but buying a Rover, really ?

I understand the allure. Nice looking things but everyone I know who’s owned one had problems, collapsed suspension, electrics and/or engine malfunctions. Then there’s the horrendous resale value or should I say lack of it.

Ha Ha i gave him heaps when he bought it, he loved it........note past tense

Having dealt with Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep Australia all I can say is they make Harley Australia look like a bunch of loving customer caring folks.

Absolute scum of the earth, warranty claims through them are a nightmare, they try as hard as they can to throw liability back on the owner, the common response is ‘we tested it there’s no issue’

My Jeep Wrangler came new with cracked taillights (oh you must have towed a trailer.. uh no tow bar dickheads), a GPS system which showed you being in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (we cant find a fault, 4 new units later), an electrical system that would just lock up randomly (we can’t find a fault and no we don’t want to see video footage) and it went on. Their dealer network is awful (I even had a mechanic there tell me quietly to just get it fixed elsewhere at and indie place).

My dad had a fiat Abarth and similar dramas.. horrible horrible company.

Any idea what FIAT stands for........?

FIAT stands for "Fix It Again Tony!" (Antonio), said in an Italian accent.

On the other end, my dad had a bmw 5 series, was out of warranty by about 9 months, in for a service, got a call ‘do you mind if we keep your car another couple of days, we are not happy with the wear on the drivers side upholstery so we have new seat being delivered and also there’s a noise in the transmission, rather than make you wait for repairs we’ve got a new trans being shipped from Adelaide, we know the warranty is up but this shouldn’t happen’

Had a seat replaced by Hyundai it of warranty as well. Took it back at requested time for fitting and the wrong seat was delivered so they serviced the car free of charge and fitted the proper seat the following week. Have just bought a new Kia from the same dealer......it’s not rocket science how to keep your customers
