This probably being discussed before but I could find it. I am in the process of installing CNC head to my Road King 103cu in , The manual state that the Automatic  Compression Release solenoid need to screw in the head using Loctite 246 (medium streagth/high temp). This compound is not readly available in Australia. The only one I can get through Ebay is AU$100 for 10ml bottle. This is robbery. The close one is Loctite 243 wherecan stand to 180 deg C (246 to over 200deg C)
Just wandering what other members of this forum have use instead.

I use Loctite 2422 for comp releases, i got it through Bearing Service years ago.The one listed in the manual, when i tried to get it was too hard for anyone to get in including Henkel Australia.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the replys. Permatex has a temperature of 150 deg C, 2422 is of high temperature but is also hard to get. I was thinking of using 243  which has a temp. of 180 deg C
a bit lower than 246 ( temp 230degC) but is readly available. I am thinking that we do not loctite spark plugs and they don't come undone and ACR solenoids are torque at the same torque of spark plug. 180deg C should be high enough. Any comments on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use the high temp retainer as the comp releases run parallel to the combustion chamber not away from it.

    Cheers.

I was thinking 243 as well... Give it a try for a week and then see how easy/hard one is to remove.
