Hi there guys, finally got my new Fat Bob 114 which is amazing. It's got the S&S slip ons which look fantastic, db killers removed, but, it really isn't hitting the mark in terms of the kind of sound I'd expected. The demo bike had a pair of V&H short shots which definitely hit the mark in terms of sound, but not looks. Is there anything else that can be done with these mufflers to get it sounding right?

My other half has a softail slim with Rinehart pipes which are *much* louder and she thinks its all hilarious!
    Any advice?
    Cheers.

Sorry to hear Mesmer. At least you have a supportive missus.

Actually, the slip ons were free. Guess you get what you pay for.

Haha. Good man. What I would do is put the originals back on and enjoy the bike for its quietness and originality. I’ve done it for 3 bikes now. Your ears and brain will thank you for it when you start doing longer rides.
Not going to be many people on the coffee strips going wow, Look at that loud knucklehead roaring past.
As well as the cops taking a dim view of noisy pipes.
Won’t it be fun when the missus is the only one to get pulled over, or worse. Getting a please explain letter through the post.
    Good luck.

LOL best reply ever! Maybe I will just enjoy the pipes as they are, they do have a nice low sound without being too loud.
    Cheers. :-)

I’m with you guys. A nice deep rumble is better in so many ways compared with obnoxiously loud pipes. Chicks will still throw their undies at you
