Changing pipes and tuning

    Hi all,
I’m moving to Germany soon and my 2011 Softail is going.  They have very strict rules over there with exhaust volume and you must have your bike checked every 2 years and the cops are red hot onto any loud pipes.
So my question.  I have a stage 1 96ci.  It has VH big shots.  I had these installed when I bought the bike with SE tuner.  Will I need to have the ECM tuned again if I put my stock pipes back on with Screamin Eagle slip on mufflers?  I thought it might be ok and not need a tune.  But I reckon it im better to run it past the knowledge of the forum.
    Thanks

    Hi Timmy
If budget is a constraint there are stock tunes in the SE software for 2011 Softails (you didn’t mention which model you have) with SE air cleaner and exhaust. I.e. Tune No. 241DA001. Not as good as a true dyno but ok. So if you have the cables/computer you can flash it yourself.
    Enjoy your travels.

Thanks for your reply.  I didn’t realise I could do it myself, I thought that was something a shop had to do, I’ll definitely look into that. I have a Softail Standard. Yeah and the budget a little tight, not so tight though.  I tell you it’s an expensive exercise.  My blue heeler is the most expensive item to ship.  I’d say she’s around $4000

Thanks for that info.  I’ve downloaded the program now waiting for the cables to arrive.  I reckon for the price of the tuner they should of included the cables!!! Anyway you’ve been a great help
