Nah not yet, will be knocking off in about 20 minutes and filling the bike up round the corner. Seeing what the range is telling me after the ride home should be a good indicator of the economy, but won't know for sure until i've used a full tank. Was getting 260-280 k's on the original rich as dyno tune. Was getting 310-330k's on the untouched canned map. Somewhere around 300 would be nice as it's 3 full trips to and from work without having to fill up.
Will be doing the VE smart tuning this weekend, so will keep you posted with how that goes and if i encounter any timing events.

There will be a bit of self learning going on for a couple of tanks before it settles completely, short term to long term sort of deal, then when you change something it will start all-over.
Centring the VE's gives the system more wiggle room for want of a simple analogy.

Okay good to know. I just got home then, and judging by the difference in what the range counter is telling me the economy has definitely improved. I've found it to usually be pretty conservative, and after doing 50 odd k's after filling up it reckons I have 285k's left on that tank. A good sign I think. Am keen to dial in the VE further this weekend.
Question - can timing cause more or less vibration? I might be imagining things but in certain gears when I let off the throttle there seems to be a bit more vibration - but as I said I could be imagining it, overall it's a smooth ride and I'm happy with how this new map is working out so far. Thanks again.

It actually can and if you can feel it mate then you are one of those gifted individuals that are very in tune with your bike, but now is not the time to address timing as fueling also plays a part and you will chase your tail if you go there now.

Good to know! I do a lot of riding for commuting and in my spare time so I like to think I know my bike and it's quirks pretty well.
Alright cool, I'll do my best to get the VE's right and go from there. Cheers mate, you're a fountain of knowledge.

Picked up bits and pieces, plenty around that know more about it than me, they being a bit quiet though.....
Yep, sort the VE and go from there.
