True, but there is more than a clutch in there.

So does the clutch manufacturer manufacturer the bike or just the clutch......does the clutch manufacturer cover any warranty with the internals or does the motor company. At the end of the day its your bike but after 2 failures with compensators i personally wouldn't use ATF.

And dont take my advice alone, when someone with Grease Monkey experience discretely mentions that there is more than a clutch in there....well the decision is entirely with you.

I was looking at options like Penrite as well for the Sporty, but the stuff is pretty much the same cost as Harley oil so very little incentive to move brands for my Sporty.

What made me move away from Syn3 was not the cost but how it stacked up in testing results.
Formula + is a decent oil, I'm sure their new 140 will be as well but I wouldn't put that in the primary, the Dino Harley oils rate ok apparently.
I can get the 3 oils I use on the bike from one spot at comparable prices so I'm happy with that.

It's going to sound weird but I'm going to say it - my fav thing about Syn3 was the smell after getting off the bike. Hot Syn3 was divine to the nostrils ... but then I swapped to Mobil1 and no more smell.
Is there a support group for this problem?

When i was a kid we used to put a tea spoon of castor oil in the tank of our 2 strokes. Made the bike smell like it was running on methanol
