I use Redline shockproof in the gearbox and have tried every lubricant in the primary. I personally would not use ATF in the primary if you intend getting on to the throttle hard. The compensators can't cope!

Another plug for Redline Heavy Shockproof gear box oil. just I can't seem to buy redline these day's & can't use it in my Sporty as they share gear box and primary & the Heavy shockproof is for gear box only. for the Sporty if I could get it I would use Redline MT, but can't find it so I just use formula from Harley , it's ok.

Not used redline, it's hit and miss getting it around here, just use a gearbox oil in the gearbox, the new HD one at 140 would be fine in the gearbox, would think it would be a bit draggy in the clutch though, I use a 10w50 in there, used to use the formula + but just get my oils from one place now.

I get mine on eBay nowadays.  Good price and postage is not that bad in the end as its all AU based.  I'll have a look tonight at what 'version' of the product I use (its either the Lightweight or MT90)

I used to use ATF in the primary pre 07everything and 06 Dyna, a bike guru told me no ATF and fuck no with syn 3, I've just stuck with that right or wrong.

I used to fuck around with 3 different oils in the three holes too.
Last oil change I filled them all up with Penrite full synthetic engine oil. 10/50 I think.
Only done about 4000ks since but have noticed absolutely no difference whatsoever. I will be doing it again next change

Tussuckk, thank's. used to be easy to get when the W A distributor was handling all AU redline oil's , then Graham Cowin ( rocket industries) took over & got hard to find.
