finally looking at fitting external breathers/ catch cans to my 110 twin cam.
running the DK external kit on my 110, routes to a horse shoe type with a breather.
If you keep oil level in check, the filter just needs a clean out every service.
Hi ralphski you’ve got me wondering about my 110. Do you have any specific issues with the HD system?
as mentioned above DK Customs have heaps of options. I modified my S&S air filter by drilling and tapping as pictured and ran lines to a Golan catch can. Worked out pretty cheap and keeps oil out of my intake. Really depends on what air filter you're running though, some would be much easier than others.
Oh, i haven't pulled the plugs yet.
You can do a lot to improve the system and make it far more efficient, but, and there is always a but, if there is an engine issue that is causing oil to be pushed out then even routing to a catch can is just a band-aid, I send mine to ground, not a drop, bit rushed tonight but can do a bit more on it if anyone wants to know.
i don't have that option to drill & tap.
couple of mates run breather lines exciting in front of the rear tyre
If you are going to the effort to drill and tap for external lines try and make the internal passages as big as possible, is drill out the hole in the breather bolt as much as you safely can and it's cross holes as well, then use fittings with internal bores that don't restrict that size, if you go to a Tee use a slightly larger bore on the single line, lots of ways to set this up, as long as the basics are ok then it comes down personal preference on how it looks, into a can or to ground is up to the individual, if you drag race at the strip you will need a can, legalities.
