What was the dyno tuning ....car or bike?  My first impression was a speed restrictor/limiter

Nar it's my 110 on the dyno, it's on smoothing 5, something or somethings is amiss, just curious as to what people think could be the issue looking at that printout, not numbers, unless it's to do with a why.

    Dyno monitoring issue?
Surely the dyno operator has an idea what the story is for you??

Can you get the person that did the tune to supply the graph in RPM with the torque line? KPH is for dreamers.

    Cheers.

Appreciate the input Hoody, I tuned it, I want Lushy to do it, trying to sort something later in the year.
The graph was just a fun day mate, I put on their dyno for shits and giggles not for bragging rights, the numbers are irrelevant to me but state of tune matters, my concern is how rough the line is, yeah it could be the sensitivity of the dyno but my mates bike (which we also tuned on the road) on smoothing 5 had a nice clean line, I did use MyTune on my mates bike but haven't on mine as yet as my tablet died and I don't have the program on the office computer...yet.
So in brief there is no normal dyno sheet for my bike as yet.

It reminds me of the dyno shoot out days that were held at Gold Coast bike week, the quest was a top number nothing else,,,sorted a lot of wheat from chaff though, you have a good tool available to you.
Many years ago, i was told "there are more tears than cheers on the dyno and flow bench" still holds true today,we don't build opinions we test what we do .
The story goes Cosworth were testing an engine for a Asian engine supplier and there was discrepancy between claimed and actual horsepower ,Cosworth described it as spillage on their dyno room floor before packing it to send.
As you have found ,an engine is what it is ,that's it. I have had over the years customers asking for just that bit more than their mate got out of exactly the same combo engine, i have wondered if they think i have a bucket of horsepower under the bench that i can dip into at will and can take from an engine at will.

    Cheers.

Thanks Brash, mate it could of been 4th or 5th gear, I don't know as it was in and out real quick with no talk time with the operator, I'm not used to hearing my bike rev from outside a booth but it sounded like it was up there rpm wise, it still accelerates in 5th and 6th at 180 so I'm leaning towards 4th gear run, hard to tell with so little info.
Belt refraction wasn't something I'd thought of, cheers for that, my concern is line being so jagged at that smoothing level.

next to your crystal ball probably, seems some think money can buy whatever they think of.a bloke with money, and loose roos in the top paddock ,asked if we could fit an extra gear in his xr honda,a bit lower than first would have been good he said, when i replied no,he said i have money...i walked away.

I have never heard the term "refraction" used in that way. (normally applied to light or sound waves)
I'm guessing you mean deflection ?

I really wouldn't worry about the small spikes, and I doubt they would have anything to do with the tune.
Checked your wheel bearings lately ?

In the absence of any wheel brg, drivetrain issues, it sort of looks like the WOT end of the map is struggling, almost missing. It would be 4th gear. What is your engine combo? My bet would be too rich on fuel. If it was too lean I think it would be a jagged, spikey looking line.

    Hey Nev,
    Softail CVO 110 engine
    Stock heads
    SE58mm TB 5.3 injectors
    10.5 pistons
    .030" headgaskets
    T-Man 590PS2 cams
    Rush 2 into 1 headers
2.5" baffle, trapped end, open cap, 18 discs
You could be right about it being rich up top, will check that again asap.
    Cheers mate, appreciate your time.

!! It is missing about 15+hp. Did the guy have a sniffer in the exhaust ? Not familiar with the cam spec.

Looked up the cam, very short timing for 10.5 comp, my guess is too rich on fuel and knock sensor pulling out a heap of timing.

Thanks Lushy, I have to take responsibility for the tune, my first thought when I saw the line was tune is up the shit, I posted it here to see what others thought, when I put this pipe back on, even though I don't like the program, I did a couple of smart tunes, no timing adjustments.
It won't be 10.5, pistons were down the hole a little, be 10.2ish, haven't measured it as it is what it is and T-Man say that 10.5 is ok for the cam, I'm still trying to swing a trip to Victor Harbour. September....maybe.
Will get MyTune on my working computer and run a few logs through that until I can get it tuned properly.
