Well I do a few kilometres  so get new tyres a bit. I have shopped around and have now decided to stick to Peter Stevens HH. Believe it or not they are the best price and service I have had. Important for me to have electronic balancer as I have had an out of round new tyre.HH have one.Cheers

I'm with Daffy on this one, HH were cheaper and fitted, I have a 4 hour ride to get a tyre changed so I have had a look closer
I'd normally have a service done at the same time purely to kill two birds....

Hey guys thanks for the comments and advice.
So I ended up calling a few of the shops above as well as 1 more and Harley Heaven (Peter Stevens) was actually the cheapest for what I'm looking for. I was honestly a little surprised and happy to hear from a couple of you about the good service you get as that's what I want as well.

Thanks again guys looks like HH it is

Grease Monkey.. My 03 FXDX also eats friggin starter clutchs, did you end up sorting that issue out at all?
Im thinkin something like a Heavy duty starter motor could be the way to go?
Im not to sure but if anyone has any advice on that Im all earz..

Chrisso I did, well the shop did, put an Evo starter ring and matching clutch sprocket on it, solved that issue, can't remember the exact details but it stopped eating clutches and stripping ring gears, really should of had comp releases I suppose but the year was 2003 and I just wanted to ride.

Grease Monkey..  Cheers mate I will have to investigate those Evo bits, Mine has big bore top end flat top high comp pistons, upgraded cams, big mikuni carb.. I do have manual decomp buttons but being so hard to crank still kills starter clutches..
Last time it did it I bought an easy start ring gear and new pinion as well as the starter clutch But I have a feeling the issue will pop up again..
Thanks for your input mate I will definately check out your suggestion cheers!

    Friends.
I'd like to send a shout out to Jason and Adelaide Bike Works HD for terrific service.
In September last year, I managed to fry something in the aux circuit of the ultra. It ran fine but had no spot lights, 12V power points or heated grips.
ABW took the bike for a couple weeks and diagnosed a faulty ECM after pulling it down and spending days looking for a short in the wiring loom. They got one in from Sydney, reset the system and were able to further isolate the problem to the aux headlight switch.
They refitted the original ECM, got a new switch in and fitted that today.
They explained that they would not reasonably charge for all the time taken to problem solve the electrical issue and I only paid labor and parts to fit a new switch. I was blown away. Consider them if you have service work. I don't know that an Indy could afford to be so generous.

That is way better than PS who had the wifes bike for 7 months, eventually diagnosed a stretched timing chain, told me it will cost another $3500, ordered it, while waiting for it to arrive, put a $29 can of carby cleaner through it, fixed, that will be $2278 thank you.
