I used the original fuel pak about 8-9 years ago and they're good and easy to use for the simple task of controlling fuel mix for a stock bike or additions of upgraded exhaust and air cleaner.
If you ever have plans for upgrades beyond that, other tuning devices are far more capable, particularly when used by a professional dyno tuner

I'm using the Dyno Jet Powervision.
Not a bad bit of gear, very easy to use, and can be mounted on the bike if so desired.

I’ve been using one for years, most of the ‘it’s shit, it’s too simple’ comes from people using the previous fuel paks and the earlier versions of the FP software.
Granted I haven’t plugged mine in for 3 years but I’m told it supports cams and all sorts of mods now.. maybe others will chime in.

My local bike shop told me ‘only good for putting in the bin mate, rubbish’... when pushed it turned out they hadn’t seen one.

I have not used a FP3, But have run a Thundermax for 4 years and love it (I wanted the Autotune function and the ability to support a turbo)

Regardless of what you buy, make sure you get the Autotune option where the unit uses wideband O2 sensors and then self tunes to a target AF setting.  Save a LOT of money on Dyno Tunes and gets you about 99% to perfect.

Other than that they are ALL pretty much the same thing when push comes shove.

I've got the new one on my bike. Super easy to use. Probably would go for something different if I was going to go as far as Stage IV but if you're only doing basic mods it will be more than capable.

Had mine on for a couple of years now and am happy with it. The shop could not stop the popping but the FP3 did with one auto tune and it was gone. Bike runs well and I am not wasting money at the bike shop for fuck all in the way of improvements.

I read that V&H have updated the software capabilities for this unit recently, anecdotally it seems it is still a pinta to use on a dyno but many seem happy with individual use, let us know how you go with it, I would of thought a stage 4 would be pushing it's boundaries, the old SEPST is just good enough for that level of build in diy hands.

How do you mean pushing boundaries

There are many tables used in the ECM that are not accessible with the Harley software and others, this is not so much of a problem for milder builds with a suitable base calibration to work from, stage four kits from Harley have an appropriate base cal to work from but if you vary far from that combination by using different cams, exhaust, compression etc you are pushing the system past where you can make the needed adjustments.
Good tuners can and do work around some of this but it's not always possible. Same with any tuning device /software with limited capabilities.

It’s no different to other flash tuners that don’t interface with the Dyno Machine. (SE, PV, TTS etc)
How can it be any worse or better? It flashes VE, timing, fuel injected tables to run bikes

Bit more to it than that, like I said before, access to tables is a big one, add to that the ease of editing and interacting with other software, not gunna argue with you cobber, believe whatever you like.

Unless major changes have been made to this product it doesn't access the tables that the others do.
See how many professional dyno tuners use it.
