    He might be an expert in his field but maybe he is not computer illiterate or he simply ignores you?

    I don't understand why the box is orange/highlighted when there's not a message there, and then only a tiny difference when there is a message. Would be nice if it had the same background as its neighbours and only went orange when there was a notification It would make it a lot more obvious:

    yeah this is how it should be i reckon.
    an option to enable email notifications when one is received would also be very helpful
