I wouldn’t risk it yourself. Get one of those mobile crowds to come out. They have tools which can tap out dents from inside without stretching the metal. Amateurs tend to try and pull dents out quickly rather than finessing them out. Good luck.
Thanks for support pb but name’s steelo.
I had a long smooth dent in the left side of my 2006 Anniversary Dyna. Tank badge had taken all the grinding thankfully. ( happened in 2009 )
Got 3 different Paintless dent removal guys out , not motorcycle specialist obviously.
I stripped out the speedo console , fuel pump etc etc ( fuel injection bike obviously !)
First 2 looked and/or tried and failed , said Harleys were too heavy gauge metal. They had done Jappers before no problem
Third dude , "The Ding King" a Swiss guy based here in Perth WA , he got the ding out 95%+
Long "spoons" levered against blocks of Jarrah on top of masking taped bath towels on the tank top surface.
Dent came out like magic !!
The new badge covered it 100% so happy days.
Problem apparently is damaging the paint on the way back to straight. In that case well what's the point I suppose.
I have met other paintless repair guys since. Some have had success with Harley dings , fenders mostly , where you can work easily from behind the ding.
Requires the fender off which can be a real labour intensive pain with the rear.
HOWEVER most paintless operators put Harleys in the too hard basket.
The liquid Nitrogen gig I have not seen personally ( except when the doc was freezing sun damage off my sorry heid !)
