We used to ride natio 5 times a week , every day after work and actually used to run my superbike in after engine builds after work through there. I was the manager of the bike shop in Sutherland in those days. They tell me its very heavily policed now....i have seen many destroyed bikes in our workshop of those who ran out of talent !

Natio is 15 mins from me (Stanwell Tops side). Speed limit is now 60k's all through it (even it the straights), not as much fun now as in the past, This is the typical knee jerk reaction after a few gladiator dressed sports bike riders come unstuck. Cops in cars hiding in bushes on alot of weekends so during the week now is more relaxed.
Pauli, remember Lady Carrington's Drive one-way (thankfully) from Audley to near Waterfall used to be open to traffic, dirt road was interesting my 180B. Just continuous dust all day.

Have many fond memories of Natio....we were also the BMW prefered dealer for the Engadine highway patrol bikes so got to thrash many a BMW through the park sometimes with one of the boys with blues and twos right up me for the rent...i think its now called corruption of some nonsense now

It was Gus Liu Motorcycles . Was a sales manager there in around 1985. We had some fantastic results from that shop with multiple top 10 Castrol 6 hr results and the odd pole position . Rod Cox , Mal Campbell, Roger Heys , Robbie Phillis all rode one of our bikes at various stages. Kim Askanazi rode mx for us and Jason Bargwanna raced carts . Kim went on to race internationally then get locked away for drugs in England and Jason went on to drive for HDT in supercars. We also had the non stop around Australia record on a bike that will never be broken at 6 days 17 hours 6 minutes. Them was the days...LOL

No it was a Kawasaki GTR 1000 in fact two, Garry Van Stratten who was our service manager and a yank Rich Willey. Both panniers were removed as well as the passenger seat and custom made fuel tanks installed. They were mobile petrol bombs. First stop was Cairns some 2500klm away to top up. When those bikes came back i had one as my take home bike over winter due to its huge fairing for the time and had some clown in a car hit me up the arse waiting to enter the round about at the five ways at Miranda. Both survived and the bike required relitivly minor repairs and was sold thru the shop
