Moisture in speedo.

I have just purchased my first HD, a 2004 XL 1200 C. in fantastic condition and 11k kms. The problem I’ve found I’d that moisture collects on the inside of the speed glass. Anything I can do, to clear it.  It’s at the bottom not all over. Cheerz Darryl

They often do this, even current bikes - well, mine certainly does. If you can leave it facing into the sun it generally clears away.......good luck!

My 17 FXDLS does the same thing as well. I was concerned about this too when first noticing it but from a lot of people i have spoken to about it, it seems to be a common thing amongst a lot of HD's.. it does clear up and i haven't heard any actual long term problems caused by the moisture in the speedo. Not sure if there has been a recall or what any dealerships have to say about it either.

I had it in my 2015 Dyna after a visit to Nth Qld. Goes away. Poor that it happens though. If it really annoys you, maybe try to swap out for an aftermarket digital one or something.

I swapped mine for a digital one, because my FXDWG was imported from the USA and the speedo was in MPH (it also fogged a little), but now the new digital also fogs, I asked the dealer about it and they replied that if the fog clears I can not make a claim, it pisses me off as sometimes you can't even read the speedo

Nope mate  mine if foggy quite often.
I take it off and leave it glass side down in the sun while I clean and polish the bike, it usually is gone for awhile after that.

    Good luck.

My 15 fat bob is the same. Wonder if I could get off a speeding fine as I could not see the speedo?

The OEM speedos are not fit for purpose and should be replaced if this happens.

Mind you, owning a TC for a year has made me want my old Evo back more and more.
