Ok   my bike developed an oil leak from the stator cable on the case.  ( After fixing a worn inner crank seal, my fault as I disturbed the grommet when replacing the seal).  Read all the stuff about RTV etc etc etc.. in the end I bit the bullet and bought a new stator..  XX$ later. I realised that my biker has done 120K  and I am starting the stretch the relationship with my rear belt.  So when I have the inner primary etc off why not do the belt. So XX$ later.  I done the deal today.  Arse is sore, knees are sore, head is sore coz I hit the bloody saddlebag bolts with my forehead when I was taking out the rear pivot spacer, but win!.  Belt went on easy as in the end.  The old one was not cracked, or damaged, just stretched.  The stator, was charging fine but the rubber grommet was worn, the manual says punch it out with a lubricant, well not this one, it pulled out easy as and compared to the new on was yeah past her prime for sealing.  I will finish it off this week then a good wash as I have to be ready for ralphski and winger who are coming over in a couple of weeks..  So over all I saved a couple of grand in labour by doing it my self.  Yeah long days but worth the effort in the long run.  Just have to get a rear tyre fitted next.   I will get that organised in the next couple of weeks.  The local Dealer quoted me $410 for rear tire fitted. Yeah mate no worries,  considering I was paying $248 for a HD Dunlop 401 at G&C cycles in Adelaide.  So bought one on line and just have to pay fitting. F%ck em

Good moves.  Thoses bloody Stator plugs are a chit; my one let loose so in the end I pulled the primary apart, cleand the heck out of things and put back with RTV on the inside as well.  Works a treat!
