High probability that the starter clutch in the primary is now toast, maybe even the drive gear from the starter to the starter ring on the clutch backing plate. Not complicated to fix nor too expensive (a day and a couple of hundred in parts).
best start is to remove primary and maybe even clutch pack and see what you have got. Should be a LOT of metal fragments in the primary so fingers crossed all the bearings in there are sealed otherwise they may be buggered too.
do not even think about opening the primary without a workshop manual though.
