Spent yesterday test riding bikes at Geelong HD, great day.
No presure proper test rides. Their location is spot on to try the bikes on the highway to Winch and the back roads on the ride back.
Very impressed with the new Softails, great compliance over the crappy back roads and so easy to get on and ride.

Rode a Heritage Classic, Sport Glide and Road Glide.

Toss up between Heritage and Sport Glide.

    Cheers

Nice. If you want to do some serious miles the road glide is the pick. Good luck with the selection, let us know what you choose.

The RG was the previous model and definitely didnt ride as nice as the other two..I was very surprised, I felt a little cramped on it and as I ride with full face and ear plugs the stereo was a bit of a non event over 90km/ hr, it did have the best fairing though, good protection and no buffeting.
The major drawback from the Heritage was the buffeting. Best seat and riding position of the three. I could not get over how good it glided over the crappy roads, not one jar to the back.
The SG felt small (in a good way) and light after the RG, no buffeting and good wind protection to the chest, helmet in the breeze. Riding position was a little locked in place..107 donk felt not that far off the 114 in the Heritage..

    For context I am 6’3”.

As for the RG comfort there are so many options to get you fitting perfectly, seats, bars etc. I have a Street Glide and dont enjoy the std seat for long distances, so on goes the ultra "armchair" Its also tough to jump from bike/frame to bike without knowing what suspension setting the shop has the bike on. That RG has the same rear shocks as my bike and i have done over 70k on them, agreed they are not the bees knees but pretty handy once you set them up properly.

Fair call, might have to get a ride on a SG. The SG Special in silver looks sensational.

If you remove the left pannier the shock adjuster is behind it. Be careful the other cool kids don't want to talk to you though if you buy anything other than black LOL

I rode my new road glide special home from Canberra with the sundowner seat and it was comfortable 1500ks, I road down to Adelaide today on the standard seat and wondered why I got the sundowner, it is not as comfy but still good
The radio I think is crap at speed, I use my phone and sena

The ride v my old nightrain is way so much better as a bagger should be, I feel like I have a little bit to learn in the slow manoeuvre with the glide but so happy I have it

Yes, the cool kids have black, I have black because I can’t justify $2400 for the orange

    Mary had a little lamb
She kept it in the yard
When she took her panties off
    It's woolly dick went hard.

changed my opinion, the standard seat is good, but the Sundowner is better for the miles, I also did a test with the sound from the speakers, 90ks is the limit sitting up, fine if you want to lean down a bit
the 3 vents in the fairing when opened, stopped and buffeting , I put my hand up to follow their path and all 3 stopped about a foot in front of my head.

Road Glide Special, only that I did like my Train, I should have done it a long time ago
