Can anyone tell me the name of these electrical connectors as I’m needing to tap into it. Yes I’ve googled and can find pics but not name. I could boggy/tap into it but would rather get a new and plug in to the existing harness. Thanks

Molex is correct yes, there are a variety of types (originally they were only 2 pins but other types followed later).
Most commonly they are used to carry power (often in computers).

They're are actually available with several pin sizes, make sure you buy the correct size.

1.57 mm (0.062 in), 2.13 mm (0.084 in), and 2.36 mm (0.093 in), the 1.57 mm pin can carry 5 A of current, while the 2.36 mm can carry 8.5 A.

Shit didn’t realise that will suss it out, wonder where you will find that info, service manual that I don’t have, it’s for a 18 road king was tapping in where the fog lights were.
Just tried the one fron jaycar the connector seems to fit nice, might have jagged that one

The 'computer drive size' is more common than the other 2 sizes these days, the other 2 are used in some radio power leads though.

But yes... sounds like you got the right one.

And, all the while I thought a "Molex" was a loose lady, or on the other hand some kind of disease.
Bloody electrics on modern Harleys are not basic for old people. Deutch, Molex, and other jazz..

Am I hearing you, what ever happened to the old red power, fuse in line, black earth Simple and easy. I’ve been looking at the wiring charts which I got through the HD portal using VIN no. Well fuck me if that’s not enough to bring on alcoholism. Found a another unused Molex on other side behind light that has a P&A ( power and accessories, violet and blue wire so I leant today ) I assume the wire harness is the same as for all tourers and this is where radio, cigarette light, USB etc  is plugged into with road and street glides but it doesn’t have a black earth. The other wire is brown and white which I’m fucked I can find in the chart. I might go back to the other Molex used for fog lamps on other side on previous photos if I can’t find out.

The plan is to plug in a cigarette socket to charge phone etc when using maps in the city, draw for charging phone is only 2.4v and setup can be easily removed when not needed.

Thanks Geoff3DMN I had no idea about the different ones and hope I have the right one but at least I’m aware there is a difference and are hoping that if draw is only 2.4 I could be right.

For low voltage DC it's (in theory) supposed to go like this.

    • Positive (non-ground) - Red
    • Negative (non-ground) - Black
    • Ground - White or Gray

Stuffed if I know what Brown and Yellow is for...

From wire diagram, best I can tell
    First Molex
Red yellow = P&A 20a fuse to relay
    Black = negative
Blue, light blue= on off switch for fog lamps

    The other one
Violet blue = also P&A 20a fuse to relay
Brown white = Aux can low ( something to do with radio)

What a head fuck but something learnt, thanks for your help

Dyna and Geoff, thank you for knowledge. Appreciated for many.
My Harley fucken tail light on one side died, fuck me, HD dealer needs upwards of $800 more $900 plus to rectify.
I bought eBay for fuck all, but is cheap, not even copper wire, no connection Mole nor Dutch thingo, , no instructions, no fuck all. Me being me of course- I wired up, but fucken shorted out the blinker/come balance cut out , like when lean into corner it clicks off after period after levelling. Well I'll be fucked, amazing. {this little baby diode,  susses out, Wat the fuck ya doing, just incase you don"t know} jazz.
So, I fucked up, but am praying to an auto sparkie, in the sky.
For Christ sake you cannot tell me Santa and his reindeers are all solar powered?
    Where"s me fucken Bike Santa?
Dyna.... was riding Triumph Chopper, 1970, I do mean the real thing, not make believe.
Had a fucken Red wire, a fucken Black wire, with a copula other copper wires. Now you need to be an electrical engineer to replace tail lights.
Got that off my chest. I'm old, most of my friends have moved on to a better place.. we hope.
Geoff, do you know a switched on auto Elec our way?
Found a good one, but closed for weeks...I want to ride. I have manual, but am not good with Ikea, nor electrics..
So sorry, if I did dribble on your initial posting Dyna, I apologise.

Baloffski Didn’t think that for a minute I got a laugh out of it.  Remember when you use to be able to wire up almost anything straight to battery just using a fuse, no not now with all this sensitive electronics. 70’s and 80’s was the go, blow a fuse get out the smoke packet rip out the top foil wrap around fuse and off you go.
