    Hi All,
Lucky me I have a partner who likes to ride. I am looking at the 2018 softail range and would be choice if you could pass on some experienced advice on a bike that is more suitable out of the range for 2 up. My thinking so far
    - Bike choices so far. Fat Boy, Fat Bob, Low Rider and Breakout
-My first choice would be the Breakout because I like the look. I do understand cornering is not as good as the others
-Any modifications to enhance the 2 up ride? Removable rear back rest? quick removable saddle bags?
Im hitting 50 years next year. The last bike I was on was a 94 fatty over 20 years ago.
    I am 6ft 82kg. The missus is 5'4'' and 55kg
Thanks for any advice in advance

Buy a tourer! lol  The most best advice is to at least get her a sissy bar as most the bikes your looking at offer shit pillion seats, i know they look cool but i would not like to be a pillion on a break out or any of the others

Ultra or heritage. You need to answer the hard question though. How much long distance will you be doing ( and also with the missus ) bearing in mind. You will increase the k’s as you get more confident. Ride a few. What sort of bike should I get topics are pointless.
    Good luck.

A Road King with a Pillion Backrest would do the job nicely,

Maybe I can ruin it some more.
    Look further, seriously, the
Indian, Chief, Classic or Vintage offers the best realestate for pillions, go, handle and have bugger all mechanical issues.

Maybe I’ll go hide under the Christmas tree before the abuse starts, forgot we don’t have one, agree with you Steelo, bah humbug.

    Really?
Edit:  are you really serious. I mean it is Christmas and people get generous and silly. When they first came back into the mainstream I oo’d and aah’d At the bling and the tassels. But Never in a million years considered buying one. Couple Friends have them but still no broad interest from me. Q: would you really have one over it’s comparable model HD?

Yep no hesitation from me! I don't like the styling or look of them but that has never held me back from buying something before. It was through their performance and handling that forced HD to develop the Rushmore .

    Hey Bruva.
Lucky position, you are in, hopefully.
Go with what ever you feel comfortable on. Take for rides with mate on board.
Indian are good from what I have heard. Lucky to be in such a position.

If you really want a new Softail (and not a tourer) then the most pillion friendly softail is the Heritage Classic, just fit a removable sissy bar and a larger pad and the rear seat will be as comfortable as a Road King.

    So why don’t I have one ?
Neither HD nor Indian offer a forward control option for my long legs. If they did, I’d own an Indian. Having riden the twin cam and bubble head offerings, the Indians are a way better two up machine.

lol Nah I still have plenty of questions. Remember it was years and years ago when I last rode. I did a walk around AMX in Logan today trying on different jackets, vests, boots and helmets and need advice on thuse too!
I liked the converse looking Dririder boots
    Helmet recommendations?

Now that’s a difficult question. Way too many variables, usually the best helmet is the one that fits, even if it’s white :)
