Hi I have just bought a HD Fat Boy 2018 8 months old and It is near on impossible to find neutral when stationary. Any clues anyone? It seems if I slow up quickly to a near stop it is impossible but when travelling slowly and coasting I can find neutral 90% of the time. Help!

It’s under warranty so take it back to dealer for adjustment

Dealer!   Sounds like a simple clutch adjustment if it shifts in okay when your coasting to a stop.  Do you know the service history or mods done to the bike?

Thanks for that, I already have once but not sure if they get it, saying it is relatively normal.

It does not take much clutch drag to really bugger up finding neutral.

I spoke to the previous owner last night she had the same issues but did nothing about it. Stock standard 2018 Fat Boy. My fear is that if the clutch plates have been overheated they now may be buckled.

Agree.... that is NOT normal.  Back to the dealer and tell them to get it right this time.

Stop panicking the plates will be fine. The boys are correct its a simple clutch adjustment.....are you going to wk on the bike yourself? If so now is an easy fix to adjust the clutch otherwise you will be charged by the dealer for a simple adjustment

Damn, how can we instill a sense of extreme panic in the man if your going to chip in and tell the truth!

I recon get a service manual and then spend 10 mins doing the job himself as its one of the easier maint tasks on a Harley.

Yes thanks again. I took the bike back today and spoke to the 2 ic who had another go and it is worse. Now what they will do is pull the clutch apart next week to see what the story is. No skin off their nose as the factory is paying I presume. Ill keep you posted

Well by simply adjusting the cable they may not have nailed it , they need to take the derby cover off and adjust the clutch internally
