Bucky! You totally win the door prize for that suggestion. Much appreciated.

I found the Oxford Rider Grips for sale through Bikebiz in Sydney, so will order them. At $55 + $8 postage that's a no brainer. Much better than her putting her hands in my jacket pockets.
Who said the internet only has cat videos and frog memes?!

No worries mate. Glad I could help.
I figure when they are younger, get them comfortable on the back and let the confidence grow. Being safe is the easy sell.
Let us know how it goes.
    Cheers.

When my son was say 5-6 years old I'd throw him on the back of this small Yamaha scooter I had , legs just hung over the side, plastic panels all the way down, no chance of little legs been caught up in any moving parts, carted him around for years, pick ups and drop offs etc, but then when he got to about 15-16 he said to me one day, " dad, it's unnatural for two men to be so close together", and that was it, never came on the back again,

Both my kids from an early age were sat on the gas tank and taken for a spin around the block regularly ,the instructions as to how to hold on and listen to what i say, i think pays dividends later in life ,they work out when their old man tells them something straight up ,he's not joking.

The eldest thought she was the coolest kid at netball when she was picked up on the Hurricane after practice.

    Cheers.
