    just thought I would add, if it was me and was in your budget. I would change valve springs to beehive springs, as do not need as much valves seat pressure. so will take more wear and tear off the valve train.

    Yep I do all my own work.

    The only work I out-sourced was some of the specialist engine work I don't have the equipment for.

    I gave that work to Mark Hood.
    He reconditioned and ported the heads (new valves & springs, cc'd them etc), made sure the flywheels are all true and fitted new crank bearings and gave the trans a good going over for me.
    I'm just doing it as a project, something to tinker on, should be a good thing when I'm done

    Mate, hats off to you!, I’m gonna get an old bike when I retire and teach myself how to do a rebuild!.
    Atm I need my mechanic to do it all for me, but I’ll learn eventually... a hobby.
