Go the fork mounted deflectors. Had them on 3 bikes now and they work a treat.

Best place to get them?  HD?

    An update:

Fitted 10” Windsplitter screen - triple tree wind deflector - adjustable under fairing deflectors.  Could not get used to the optical distortion in the 10” screen and the fact I had to sit up straighter to see over it so swapped it out for the 7” version.

I reckon 90% of the buffeting is gone - and can simulate 100% by putting my hands out and blocking the wind coming up from under the front.  Also tucking my chin down slightly removed the effect.  I wear a full face Shoei and I reckon it’s contributing to the buffeting affect.

Either I go with the fork mounted deflectors or try a open face helmet.  Everyone who has the fork deflectors seem to like the results.  On a newer 17 SGS where’s my best option to get them? HD dealerships?

After this I have no more excuses.  Lol

Sorry i posted to your last comment, if your looking for 100% no buffering ......ain't going to happen! Your on a bike, buy a car to get 100%

Got mine at Local HD  for 16 SG. About $120. Catalogue said they would not fit but they bolted straight on to blinker mounts. Just needed to file the wiring plug to fit. Plenty on here have them fitted. Not sure if the '17 is the same so might pay to check.

Sage advice.   Mate I’ve ridden lots of bikes, most of them naked.  It’s the brain rattling vision blurring buffeting on this bike that has me searching for ways to resolve it.  Its bloody painful after an hour or so having your teeth rattle against each other!  ??.

I get the same serious buffeting with a 21inch screen in my Fatbob. It’s great for keeping heavy rain off but I lose pretty much all vision in head winds and after 30 minutes or so the headache starts so unless I know we’re in for heavy wet weather I daren’t use it. At least my screen is quick release.

I use a 16" Windvest screen. No buffeting and keeps most of the pressure off. Have got fork lowers too.

I have an 08 FLHT, i would get double vision, (almost), at anything over 80 km/h.
I fitted the deflector under the lower fork, 80 percent better immediately.
I fitted the deflectors to the fork legs, even better result.
Always had the standard size screen on it, tried the HD wind splitter, didn't like the curvature you got when looking at it whilst riding, the centre lines on the road went manky , it put me off.
I wear nothing but a $150 full face and can ride 1,000 km days with visor on my lid fully open the whole way with no vibration or rattling of the visor.
It can't get any better than what I've got. Not possible.
I had my fork deflectors powder coated black, sorta makes them less obvious.
Cost me $20 dollars at the John maroney prison at Sth Windsor nsw.
Trust me, bottom triple clamp deflector, fork leg deflectors, standard size screen. It's luxury.

Ordered and paid for HD fork deflectors.  Went to pick up just now, and they specially say they do not fit FLHXS after ‘14.   Bugger.
    Search continues.

Update:   Just checked the HD online catolog and it says it does fit.  Spoke to a parts guy in Sydney who has fitted them to his own 17 SGS without any mods. So, going back tomorrow to try them.

I’m guessing this is directed at me.  I’m plenty tough enough mate, but I do expect a product to work as advertised when I spend upwards of $30k on something.  In this case I don’t have a “she’ll be right mate” and suck it up.

They will fit your bike . They only need modifying to fit an Limited/Ultra  with the extra lights .
You will need to file the indicator wire plastic connector just a little to allow it to fit through the hole in the deflectors . Quality Harley engineering at it's best ...
