    Having a shocking run lately.
Had another order come with my chain stuff and my new Mikuni HSR45 kit.

The mikuni manifold is fucked out of the box, where the intake seals sit has been machined through to the inside, its paper thin. Need a new one.

Did some work with a laser to figure out what size sprocket spacer I need for this setup, got it all setup, and the chain 1 link too short.. Thought it mightve been because of my decently big rear sprocket. No, its because its 110 links instead of 120 links like it should be.

Next on the list is brake lines I think.

I'm starting to think your Dyna build is made to have strippers ride around on the back. Maybe I'm wrong.

Hey, where are getting that foam from?  Trying to foam out my king queen seat but it’s a bloody struggle to find the right grades.  It’s a bit of a dogs breakfast of OEM rubber and foam floor mats atm.

FXR*, but that was old mates first crack at shaping. He came round and we sat it on the bike and scoped it out, decided where to take material etc off, so that pillion section will be slimmed down and angled a bit.
Will def have a pillion seat though, the single seat pans look a  bit wack to me.

Couldnt tell ya mate, its from the upholster doing the seat.

    More picture dumps!

Seat came out mint, could not have asked for a better job especially for the price.
Next up is how the manifold arrived in my brand new Mikuni kit.... Pretty fuckin shit if you ask me. Makes me wonder how thin that area is even when its machined properly..
Last up is the latest issue encountered with the twin cam swap last night. As you can, the lower oil line and the brake pedal (not my handy work on the grinding btw, was already like that haha) want to be in the same spot... Which I kind of expected, so currently working on an elegant solution, which I think I've sorted out in my mind.

Bit more mocking up and checking fitment.
Carb doesnt foul with the top stabilizer which is nice.

Waiting on a chunk of steel to arrive before I make a mount to use Dyna mids and get the clearance I need.

    Looking great John

Would this be the only twinkie FXR in OZ?

    Cheers mate.
Nah definitely not,  I know of a couple others, one thats a pretty standard engine swap, and another thats a full tilt big dollar build with s&s 111, about 6 or 7k in brakes alone, full fairing etc.

Sure to be others running around!

Took a bit of a gamble and made a drunk purchase of a charging system I THOUGHT my work for my setup, and its come out golden. I did a fk load of research on cycle electric website comparing stators, rotors and reg/regs.
Easy R had a sale and this was 300 off, so grabbed it.

Looks like it'll work perfectly, even the reg reg will mount on my chrome mount.

The only thing im not 100% sure on is if i need an additional spacer on the output shaft before the rotor or if its already on there in the pic, which I think it is but i want to double check before running it.

    Cheers Noctm, I appreciate it!
Its been pretty slow going recently, have been diverting resources and energy to a few other bits n peices.
It's looking like I'll need to take it through the pits to get it rego'd, which will be a massive PITA. I may buy another Aussie delivered frame if one comes up just to avoid the fk around. But till then, I'm proceeding as and will just have to make this super legit when it comes to ADR, indicators, pipes, lighting (ECE approved b.s) brake lines, etc etc.
First up, Im making a Dyna mount for the RHS mid controls. This will give me the clearance I need for the oil fittings. Before I weld it on, I wanted to get a hold of a set of stock Dyna exhaust, to make sure all this shit fits, mid clears the exhaust etc.
So get a hold of the pipes, have discovered the cross over pipe which runs under tranny cover, is in the same place as my clutch cable enters. FXR's shoot the clutch cable out at a much steeper angle to avoid hitting the stock FXR mids. So now I've either gotta chop up the exhaust or get a hold of a normal Evo tranny cover which comes out at 3'oclock rather then 5 oclock angle.
You can kinda see the issue in the last pic, where the cable is hittin the cross over pipe but the clutch cover is nowhere near lined up. You can also see the metal chunk on the frame that will be drilled n tapped for the mid mount.

In good news though, by changing  the position of the rear swingarm pivot, I've gained way more clearance on the front rocker to frame issue. Doesnt look like much, but this should be bang on, and is better than the 2mm that was there before haha.

noctm is right. great build John, a credit to self. Working around the challenges chucked at ya, is good to see , always a solution, somewhere.
A very nice looking Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Going to have her looking like will take you to church on Sundays, for registration, but transform back to motorcycle porn.

You could swap to an earlier FXR Clutch actuator which has the cable entering from the left side and terminating on top of the Tranny.

Slow progress coz im slow In general and doing other shit.
Finished up the mid control mount tonight, just need to TIG it on.

Ended up obtaining another clutch cover, guess what, clutch cable shoots out directly into the lower oil bolt,  so not sure that will work atm.

Also ended up picking up an absolute munted thing,  but atleast it has a clean frame and local rego history.

    Just keepin options open.
