Seems as though KTM are going to beat all the manufacturers in introducing the first adaptive cruise control on a motorcycle. They plan to bring it out on their adventure bikes of all things first

As far as getting it into real life, yes, they have prototyped it, but will only release it on production models in 2021, their development partner, Ducati, who joined KTM and Bosch in the development of the technology, will release it in 2020, according to the press release. They included Blind Spot Assist in the study as well, which will also be released at the same time apparently!

“Ducati will add adaptive cruise control and blind spot alert systems to its 2020 Multistrada while KTM will add them to their line-up in 2021.

In a one-upmanship display over Ducati, KTM has unveiled working prototype systems on a modified 1290 Super Adventure S at the ÖAMTC driving technique centre in Marchtrenk, Austria.”

    In other news from Bosch:
“Bosch jet thrusters prevent motorcycle slides. Rocket-style thrusters that blast a jet of air out the side of your motorcycle could be used to prevent low-side slides, says German tech company Bosch.”

And then we have the riderless motorcycle! Why would we ever want one of those?
BMW Motorrad has revealed a self-driving motorbike that can ride and park itself without the need of a rider.

The self-driving version of the R1200GS bike is powered by intelligent software that enables it to start its own engine, speed up and come to a complete stop.
