Ok, so as the thread title says... Vance and Hines short shots, yes or no?? I am considering fitting a set to my ‘16 Streetbob. Pros and cons ??

I’d suss the kuryakan Mavericks. Or Magna flow short 2-2. Less expensive and a better sound.

if you like making your bike slower and pissing off everyone within 5km radius then go for it.

With Short Shots the pipes end right at ear level, you will very quickly grow to hate the loudness - especially on a long run (even with earplugs). Save your hearing & get quieter pipes.

I just swapped my short shots for bassani sweepers, better pipe, broke the bank, they’re still loud but loudness wasn’t my problem more popping and that hollow note you get from short shots . Much prefer the bassanis they have a deeper note being a longer pipe

Bassani and D&D new somewhere around 1600-1700 so probably a little to much but you can get a TBR new for around 1300-1350

I’m really pushing it to make 1200 Damo, I was more hoping to spend about 1000. I have an “old school” theme going on with my bike which I want to continue when it comes to pipes.. 

Yeah 100% it can be tuned out, I wanted new pipes anyway, which helped with popping still does high revs dropping gears, I’m hoping to tune it in the near future. 

Ah yep yep, I understand that for sure. I did have short shots on mine for around 2 years, I liked them whilst they were on there but my performance upgrades were screaming for a 2into1. I had quiet baffles in mine which really only make it a little deeper not much quieter but with a decent tune in it I had no popping and unless you ride it like a tool you don't really get much extra attention from the fuzz

Thanks for all the comments guys. I reckon I might just stick with the screaming eagle slip ons for now and stash some cash away over time and get a good 2 into 1
