G’day all,
Al here from Adelaide, just picked up a 2011 super glide custom.
It’s my first HD and so far really enjoying it.
Cheers for now

Nice bike Al. How long did it take for you to make a decision? I've been looking at H-D's for several months now (Electra Glides Mostly, but lately Softails too) and am no closer to making a decision.

Cheers all!
I have had all sorts of bikes Jo, still have a ZX7R Ninja that I am working on, but have been considering a HD for a fairly long time.
Hadn't ridden one but have owned a couple of yamaha cruisers, namely an XVS650 and recently an XV1100, both left me rather unimpressed predominantly due to the high revving nature of the oversquare engines (Typical Jap bikes!) as I was wanting the lower revving higher torque style of riding for a cruiser.
Was considering a softy for a bit but prefer the styling of the Dyna's as well as the handling characteristics. I would have preferred a Wide Glide for the looks, but the Super glide is a little better through the windy stuff!!
So far really happy with the bike, would like to raise the bars a touch as the indicators hit the tank at full lock! But I'll just machine some spacers at work to do that as I only need about an inch!

I’m with you on the Wide Glide’s handling, I moved to the Adelaide Hills and soon switched to a Fatbob, loved my old Widey but it kept trying to kill me.

Cheers binnsy!
I do like the raked look for sure Ratbob, but the handling definitely suffers. One day I might change the rear fender to a wide glide bobtail as I do prefert that look!
