My street glide has gone in for the brake /abs bleeding and they gave me a new 114 (3000klm) 114 fat boy loaner. WOW and BOO! WOW for the grunt from a std motor and the smoothness compared to mine. BIG BOO for the worst steering bike ever, thought a breakout sucked well this double sucks. It will not go around a roundabout without you having to fight the fucker the whole time. BOO as well for the disgraceful wheeze from the exhaust. Nice cruiser on smooth roads without to many bends.

Unfortunately Pauly I totally agree, absolute pig, but on looks I really wanted one. I reckon there’s just too much weight in those wheels. At the time I asked what wheel options were available and was told there’s nothing that will fit.
However, calling in to a HD dealer in Toowoomba I spotted this

Breakout wheels in a new Fatboy.  Looked great. Dealer reckons it’s transformed the handling. Unfortunately it was sold so no test ride and I’m too miserly to buy new Fatboy and change the wheels to find out.

LOL hear you about not spending the money. The quality and fit is also a bit ordinary,

Not sure where to post this but chatting with Mark B at HH Adelaide, he agrees the Fatboy’s handling ain’t great and says it’s sorted by running 40+ PSI in both wheels. Says it transforms the handling.
At least I can test this theory without spending so I’ll take another test ride.

I actually did just that last night on the loaner, helped heaps but still wants to just go straight.....At 41 psi the tyres sound like your riding a 4x4 with mud tyres on the road, they howl like a truck! When i took it back this morning at 120 on the motorway it was a bit unstable because the tyres were over inflated. Really nice power from the motor though.

Bugger but thanks Pauly, saves me going through all the pre test ride Salesman stuff. Given your experience I won’t bother, Cheers.

Funnily Chriso i don't mind the look of the new Fatboy just the fashion over function with big tyres fuck it up for me. It reminds me of when i put a car tyre on the back of my Rocket three. Lofty will know what i mean
