Hey all, a little question. Just picked up a hypercharger cheaply that I'd like to chuck on my 07 Fatty. Just had a browse of the installation instructions and they say it should be dyno tuned after. Shit I thought it was just a simple bolt on and am not too keen on paying $600 to get it dyno tuned as well. I had the bike dynoed to the vance and hines 2 into 1's I had on the bike when I bought it before taking them off and and putting on Vance and hines short shots and the bike runs fine even though they say it should be dynoed again for those pipes. Has anyone out there got a hypercharger on their bike and if so tell me if you had to retune it

They’ll be thinking you’re replacing a stock HD air cleaner.
What was on the bike?
If stock, yeah a tune might be good, if replacing another high flow cleaner then you should be good to go.
A quick test ride should tell you.

If you have a Thunder max does it have 'autotune'?

I believe it does, mate of mine did a filter, pipe and cam change, whacked in a Thundermax and I have trouble keeping up with him, he did it all at home, the bastard !

In that case you can install a pre-canned MAP from the TMax website and then let autotune do the rest. I run the same setup....aftermarket exhaust and airfilter and the autotune works wonders.

spoke the to super friendly guys at Thundertech Mundairing and they reckon it will not be a problem to chuck on as it has already got a K&N air filter that has been previously tuned. That's a relief. Even better when I was there they had the tank off my bike replacing the switch wiring and they have agreed to install it for me at super short notice. When I get it back I'll post a pic

got my bike back last night and here is a pic of the hyper charger installed. I'd like to plug Thundertech in Mundaring WA for their fantastic customer service. The bike had its 40K intermediate service and handlebar harness changed at the same time and on the 100km ride home it didn't miss a beat. All up the charger cost me $170 including postage and as the tank was off at the time, the boys put it on near on for free, very happy
