Don't turn this into another full v half helmet topic.
Decided to retire the old shark convertible after five years or so, didn't feel as comfortable as it used to so had to go. I liked it because I prefer an open face in summer but on bad weather days I could have full face. So I looked at the Harley pilot 2 and it was not bad with the flip down visor and removable mask, but decided on the caberg ghost instead.

Carbon/Kevlar/fiberglass composite shell insread of plastic, still with removable mask but the visor lifts externally instead of sliding up inside the helmet. The visor comes down further than the pilot one and will work better without the mask and gives an almost  helmet less field of vision, picked it up while at work and rode home in windy conditions and was surprised at how quiet it was considering it is a 3/4 and the mask section is only a rubbery material, the lining feels good and the ear section almost form an earmuff which explains the noise level and at only around 1.1 kg it is light as that meant almost no buffeting or sore neck from the headwinds. Should be a great helmet for summer.

Had them at $399 but got it for $370 from Canberra HD, came with foam inserts for across the nose of the visor but left them in the box at work so will have to try them mon monday but they are not required.

I believe the ones the Harley dealers now sell are rebadged Bell helmets.
I use a Bell Mag 9 open face which now the dealers sell as a HD helmet. I also have a Shoie XR1100 which is about 7 years old.
I like the Shark flip front as when open the front flips completely over to the rear if you want it. Plus because of these feature i believe the Shark is the only flip front that is designed and covered by ADR that can legally be used in open position.

i believe your are right steamer, mate has the hd helmet and it looks the same[havent checked closely] as my my bell with flip front and internal tint visor.
i wear glasses, cant put the helmet on with glasses on,and cant get the glasses in with the helmet on,the bell solves the problem.
only down side ,the helmet is very noisy in a head wind
the shell has a few vents which keep it a bit cooler.
same as you hilly, wondered about chin strenght in an off, will try my hardest not to test that point.

With this helmet and the pilot the chin part is not rated only the shell part. The harley helmet is a rebadged scorpion with a thermo plastic shell probebly made in china, the chin part is weather and bug protection only but I always had the shark in half mode in summer anyway just with the visor down partly for protection and also wind resistance, the shark gave good protection but was heavy and knocked your head around in strong headwinds. I can fit glasses while wearing the ghost and easily slide them on and off with the helmet on, the pilot visor fit closer and i didn't try glasses so I don't know and a few reviews i read on other forums said the padding preasure on the side was too much after wearing for a while. Caberg is Italian made and shows good quality,  it also comes with pinlock visor fitted and the foam inserts come in three thicknesses although I left them in the box at work so won't know until monday.I won't throw the shark out and might even try and get a new set of lining stuff since that is what has collapsed a bit making the helmet uncomfortable and loose, you never know when you might need a replacement helmet.
