I had one of the lighter scissor type lifters some years back , i was never happy with its stability especially at full lift and pushing and pulling on jobs.
I now have one of the Handy S.A.M brand ones from USA ,a lot more stable . I modified a scissor cradle lift that bolts to the table and has hook bolts that clamp the bikes frame rigidly to the lifter ,great for full builds.
Not in the photos but the wheels run in alloy channels so as not to mark the floor.
The old saying stands true ,"You buy good stuff once and junk three times".

Nice looking set up you have there. Yep, the Handy lifts are pretty much an industry standard but at $2,200 plus wheel vice and shipping make it a difficult choice for casual use.
The specs of the Warana and Handy are identical and oddly, the Warana weighs about 50 kg more so I’m thinking, albeit without any proof, that quality shouldn’t be worse.

If the Handy copy is as good as they say they are now, i would probably still have the first one i bought,,but it was a long time ago.It was just not rigid enough side to side wise at full extension.
And yes they are expensive now for what they are $2200 + + !!! , i paid i think $1200 inclusive when i bought mine, freight from Brisbane was reasonable at the time.

agree with Hoody, you get what you pay for.
bought mine about 4 years ago, $500, delivered to my place.
cylinder leaked, got $50 for warranty.
can't lift it on it's side for storage, the cylinder leaks oil.
not as stable as i would like when in use.
but i don't use it all the time.
it is what it is..... chinese shit

Hey Ralphski there is a place in Richmond area that can fix the leak they basically fix any Hydraulic equipment including bottle jacks, lifts , pneumatic tools, car lifts etc etc, we used them for years when I worked in the tyre industry. The company is Manual Hydraulics.

This is my girl gets off the ground high enough to have a look under the bike

I for one cant afford more than $1000. For a bike lift, so will prob end up with a $500, one. As long as it does the job.
