My preferred tyre for these larger Tourers is defiantly the American Elite, I even fitted a set to the Fatboy.

First off I am only talking touring bikes...
Am I missing something ??? … In the video , he mentions stock oem Dunlop tires as American Elite.... The tyre that is shown is the stock tyre with the Harley logo on the tyre..
The American Elite tyre , (which is Dunlop), is other tyre, (different tread, but same compound, with no Harley logo), made by Dunlop to compete with the Harley  stock tyre that Dunlop supply to Harley.... I believe there is now , (in the US) , an American Elite 2 , and what I have read, an American Elite 3 tyre.....

Which tyre is the best ,,, well usually the conversation turns into a oil debate thread..... I just thought I would post up, as I think what the guy in the video was saying , was confusing  or wrong, regarding Harley stock tires and Dunlop American Elite tires  …….

One more thing on tyres, no matter where you live in Oz the road surface is completely different from state to
state, so what may suite one may not another, if I didn't need good mileage I would also run Pirelli. I noticed
Northern WA the road surfaces were brutal, great for grip but not longevity.

World wide road surfaces, to be political correct there Mick, appears to be a US Pauly has picked up on.
