    Hey guys,
Just wondering why there's no real talk or concern of M8 sumping problems here,  but the US forums are rife with it... it's just thread after thread and so many posts reporting their bikes to have failed. Some are on their 2nd 3rd even 4th engines?
Anyone know if any Australian M8 bikes have sumped?
    Cheers

Sorry Pauly, too cryptic for me, Wadayamean, er maybe he’s blind or needs a whooping?
Of course stats could be considered, there’s say 325 million yanks, so if just .05% of em buy an M8 that’s 162,500 M8’s out there (per year) and only two major forums, HD and CVO so if only 1% of em had a sumping issue that’s 1,625 complaints potentially  posted. We don’t have those numbers. Wadayareckon?

Yes mate, I'm just trying to decide to get an M8 softie now, or wait a while and see what HD does about it (if anything)....
Sorry if it's been discussed before, as i said couldn't find any threads when i looked.
    Peace.

Hi Adam, I assume you’ve searched “M8 sumping” on our forum. There’s a bit to read and worth it.
I’m not an M8 convert so have no advice on when to buy, too many variables anyway. Cheers

Ignore “pauly’s” comment.....I think he musta typed that reply in the wrong forum reply box......could see that happening if you have some kinky porno site up at the same time as this one lol......anyway,

Yes the Yank forums are full of all sorts of M8 dramas......I have a 17 Road King with 25,000km. Twice dyno tuned, no sumping, no migration..... it’s been trouble free. I know at least 20 others with M8 tourers and they are all trouble free also......I wouldn’t be too concerned, but as Hilly said, most of the issues are with bigger Stage 3/4 bikes.
I’ve seen one report of a 18 softail migrating, and it has a cable clutch, but again, I think if you break one in with mechanical sympathy you will likely be fine.

This is exactly why i don't usually be part of forums... full of dickheads.
I thought a forum was for asking questions and having discussions.....

And just FYI, i was a regular participant on this forum for many years a while back. Looks like it's deteriorated.

    I'm out.

Don't you fellows see a problem here. In a couple of short posts we've managed to turn the question from a technical one of a lazy enquiry into a righteous fight to protect a new (not even a new) member from a couple of perceived "mean" comments. (that I thought were completely tongue in cheek) I asked myself the same question when I saw the first post. Even the most rudimentary search or topic check found specific topics on M8's of whatever. I mean, you've read all about a perceived sumping problems on US sites and just because no one is talking about it to death on an Aussie one, you try to get a destructive (to the brand) conversation going. WTF is that going to do? Ask a dealer? Use the bike warranty if you experience it. Don't buy the bike! I don't care. Everyone just wants to be a victim. The outrage brigade as my wife calls them. Don't fall for it.
