M8 Street Bob rear brake...

I've noticed on the initial rides on my Street Bob that, compared to my previous Dyna Low Rider, the rear brake is next to useless... is it just mine, or is this a common "feature"?
Going to ask the dealer to check it when I go back for first service, but wondered if others have noticed similar?

My 2018 Fat Boy is the same . .. I doubt it would pull up a Lambretta ridden by a miniature poodle wearing a light collar!
I have a bit over 3000klm and it hasn't  improved at all?

MY 09 Streetbob's rear brake is a hunk of shit.  I keep meaning to look at it, but never get around to it.

Test rode a fatbob at HH Ringwood when I got back asked if they come with a rear brake as not much happened when I put my foot on the peddle. The breakout I bought seems fine so not sure if the demo bike had been cooked.  However they create a shit load of break dust front and rear.

Faulty brakes! Air trapped in the system could be your problem, request to have the system flushed for your safety.

I have a 18 fxlr had same problem with rear brake , utter shit ! The problem is the linkage is all wrong , I have now fitted forwards from a fat bob and the rear brake is quite good now as the linkage has gone an the leaver pushes directly on master cyl

Yep have test rode two different 2018 Street Bob's back brakes were non existent. Talked to the dealer about it and surprise, surprise, they said they have never heard of back brakes been a problem on the Street Bob. So glad that Harley doesn't lie to their customers lol.

I heard today there is a recall on Street Bob's for a brake problem - I think it was.

I saw earlier this month a recall (and stop-sale) for Street models (as opposed to the Softail Street Bob / FXBB), but it's pretty unimpressive performance!
Wondering if it's just badly designed linkages because people with aftermarket forward controls don't seem to have as much of an issue as those with the stock...

Has anyone done any upgrades to the rear brake on these or any other of the new softails? Looking at getting aftermarket pads and rotor but haven't decided which way to go yet. I know you get what you pay for but holy fuck there's some expensive rotors out there...
