Removing lens tint

I would like to remove some VHT lens tint (with clear) from my indicators (too dark for my liking). I have Googled/YouTube'd and tried all the easy removal options like brake cleaner, petrol, paint thinners, brake fluid, turps, metho. Most are leaving the cover hazy if they work at all. I am experimenting with the front changeable ones but the rear are sealed so I want to get the process right before I attack them.

    Any ideas out there??
