New Softail Frame

    Just quickly, the new softail frames..... are they essentially the same frame on all the softail line up and if so how interchangeable are the tanks seats etc.

    BTW Rode a sportglide today... Heaven! First time I saw one I figured it must be the new Low Rider with some extra junk thrown on it... or some sort of Low Rider Plus. Anywho fell in love with the way it looked, and now, the way it feels..... oh yeah M8 has some go getcha too.

    The seats will still have differences between some models, eg the new fatbob has a unique fit, the streetbob with its new smaller tank size will have a slightly different fit to, say, the Slim with the old size tank, which will be different than the breakout and lowrider for example. In short - No.

    Since getting on the M8 wagon, I'm frustrated that every thing from my previous TC models seems to have different part numbers , different dimensions etc etc.
    None of my old TC parts fit . Even the dealers can't tell me what fits ie screens, saddle bags , foot pegs, racks , the list goes on.
    Probably being cynical, but just Harley pulling more $$ out of the punters. The M8 Softails are good. Just wish more chassis parts we interchangeable or
    the catalogues covered more options.

    I think they might be interchangeable up to a point ie an EH bonnet is inter changeable with a XP bonnet...... you just have to have the tools and skill to make it fit ;-)
    The parts and accessories cattledogs for the new softail might be going through an overhaul, discovering new ways to suck money out of your pocket.

    Correct. Main differences are rear fender width and tank sizes. This largely determines what’s interchangeable.

    From what I vaguely remember from the press release, 3 frames. Differing rear ends been the difference for tyre width. Not sure if they are interchangeable from each other however.
