I am keen to see what engine they put in the Street Fighter - 975cc?  Would like to see one with the VROD 1250cc engine in it.

Where did the 975cc come from?

That’s what’s stated as the Streetfighter engine cc’s on the website PB. I’m wondering if these new models will be available in multiple engine sizes e.g 3 different streetfighter variants - 500/975/1250 etc...
“Introducing a new modular 500cc to 1250cc middleweight platform of motorcycles that spans three distinct product spaces and four displacements, starting with the company’s first Adventure Touring motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson™ Pan America™ 1250, a 1250cc Custom model and a 975cc Streetfighter model, all of which are planned to launch beginning in 2020. Additional models to broaden coverage in these product spaces will follow through 2022.”

Curious choice by the factory as they obviously don't have a water cooled motor that size makes me wonder if the 750 could be bored and stroked to get to 975? Perhaps the 1200 is going to be a v rod motor

There also talk of a 250cc motor that will be used in a partnership with Asian manufacturers for the SE Asia market. Harley Vtwin Step Thru’s racing around Bali & Thailand!!

    nothing new for 2019 ??

Could be be the mocos way of saying “you have about 18 months left to get an evo sportster” or perhaps as Matt Laidlaw suggested, they mean 2020 model year which would indicate a late 2019 release date...
    WHAT COULD IT ALL MEAN???!!!

All very true statements accept people are not buying the big block or the old tech HD in the volume they need to remain relevant.

One rumour doing the rounds is they are announcing an XR street tracker Sporty next month to go head to head with the Indian FTR

I get ya James but remember when the Dyna came out, got poopooed to hell, I mean, who’d buy a fucking rubber glide?
Yep, I’m on one now and like you lament it’s demise but I just can’t bring myself to condemn the new stuff, even if it is shite. :)

Fair point about calling these 2020 may mean third quarter 2019 release ... which is interesting as that’s a whole year away. Maybe to give dealers something to look forward to and gear up for, noting Livewire next year will need to be given plenty of bandwidth by HD and all involved.
Notwithstanding, we can assume some other new bikes may be flagged too.

I like that 975 ... but it would want to be sub-$20g otherwise it’d want to be much better than every other naked on the market especially against the Triumph Speed Triple. That price could be doable ... maybe made in India/Thailand. I’m interested in hearing all about its tech etc and seeing how some may get put into the Softy’s.

Well they are going to lead this new change with the livewire and depending on the price it seems to have been widely accepted by all who have ridden it. Again lets hope they have  tested it to death so it can get the consumer tick for reliability

I believe the Livewire is going to be priced at the super premium end PB, or at least that’s what was indicated in the cycleword article that was referred to in the Matt Laidlaw video.

when the Shovelhead took over from the most beautiful motor HD ever made ( Panhead ) was even more crying, I think the last of the dyna wide glides was a model that looked like a Harley, same as the Lowrider S, they look like a Harley.

what I wonder is, under full power, what will the Livewire range be? How heavy is the battery the use & how big is it? how long for a full re charge?

No point in waiting for the 2019 models before trading up.......

Mum has released enough funds to purchase a new bike, I have attempted to but unfortunately the BS you go through trying to negotiate a reasonable "deal" has turned me off. For fucks sake is it so hard to buy a bike...... figured I would wait until 2019 line up was announced, wrong again. Perhaps I'll go to the pub instead!
