Another question....what is a "Custom 80"?

Sorry to bother again, but trying to do as much research as I can.

I've noticed on some older bikes that they are referred to as Custom 80. What the heck does that mean. For example, there was an old 87 FXR Custom 80.
What does Custom 80 entail - does it just mean the bike is a factory custom, and has the 80 cu in motor ? ?

    Thanks mate.

Actually, I just read an old sales brochure that reckons their was a "Custom" model FXRS which included a solid rear mag wheel, in keeping with a customised look.
I'm considering a bike at the moment which has the soild alloy rear wheel. Really hard getting precise info on the older stuff. (Old compared to these dyas of course....I remember them growing up).

1985 FXRDG had a genuine centreline rear wheel, rare as rocking horse shit these days.

The early '90's FXLR had the Aussie-made rear disc mag wheel and a 21" up front.

The FXLR is probably the one you're thinking of.

There was an FXLRC, however most of the time, Custom means theyve made it ugly as fuckin possible.
Especially with FXRs. I passed on so many before grabbin mine because they were fucked. Wide glide front ends, horrendous headlights, ducttail fenders etc

Awesome bikes though, fkn love mine. The 80in goes well too.
