Yeah saw that add but don’t recall it specifying a particular cam set. Not sure if you’ve got a Twin Cam or M8 but I assume you’ve already changed the air filter and exhaust and have an HD or other brand tuner, if not more cost.
As for cam, unless you’re prepared to add higher comp pistons the choices are limited to what they call “bolt in” ie no other engine mods needed but it still gets down to what riding style you like.
If Twin Cam, At the extremes a 255 “torque” style cam will pull quickly from 2000rpm but run out of puff around 4500rpm.
Conversely say a 204 cam set will start pulling latter maybe 3000rpm but will keep pulling up to say 5600rpm.
All depends how you like to ride and yeah, you will get a nicer sounding idle.

SE 255 cams all the way , but that is just my opinion of course.

AND of course if it's a 103 Twincam

M8's ? Don't know much about them yet sorry !

Thanks Ratbob its twin cam n yes got the pipe n heavy breather and thanks Retroman for your advice. I am planning to go for 255 as harley has extended there promo time. One more question is it better to go with harley( no left over warranty) or independent machanic. Any recommendations SE/Northern suburbs. Cheers

255 cams will have a calibration straight out of the Cal file list , which is why I recommend them.

"other" cams I have seen folks chasing their tails once they are installed. Personally I am not a fan of "Dynoing" , (just my opinion of course!)

255 cams give that low down punch which is why they are stock OEM in all CVO's.

I  have seen them in 96's and 103's with always good results

255 work very well, especially with the Dyno.

The only reason i want to go cams for lumpy sound n of course bit of extra power. Dont want to spend 4-5 grand and park in shed n make my self happy yeah i got heavy cams. Quick take off n sound all it matter right now without touching rest of the stuff coz once it started it never ends.

    I hear ya Hilly

The Perth Indy dealers fit all sorta cams for folks ( I don't do the fitting , just the tuning ).

Some of them then send the bikes to me for tuning anyways.

Several of my riding mates have 255's , often bought by me second hand off the net , ebay or Gumtree for cheap.

That low end torque is also part of the attraction for me. Big lumps (like all big twins !!) get "out the hole" quicksmart with 255's

It's also about "best bang for the bucks".

Here in metro Perth at least the gumbinment is well kinky for speed cameras , so "top end" is largely superfluous to requirements.

Recently there has been a trend of "110" kits of various parts being built in 2007 and up bikes , some SE cams other S&S easystart ( no ACR's in those bikes !)

I’m in SA so not sure about mechanics your way but I think the Harley deal included the cams, fitment and tune, likely not full dyno but usually ok. If you’re looking for a no fuss fit then I’m sure their package offers some level of warranty. Don’t expect a big lumpy idle with the 255 cam but they sound ok if you drop idle to 944 rpm.  I’m happy with the 255’s in my CVO, easy riding and plenty of immediate go without the need to wring it’s neck.

I hear you mate. I am planning to give it a go to do fitting by myself. So after fitting this kit do i need tune. I am using v&h fp3 tuner. Will the auto tune function work with cams change?

I have no personal experience of the FP3 tuners

I do use original SERT , later Supertuner pro , and I used to use TTS. All depending on the tuner dongles the bikes already have connected to them.

I am presuming V&H may have a calibration for the FP3 that you can download to the bike. 255 cams are relatively "common" so I would hope so !

Yes it does have the option to select cams and adjust the idle.
