Yep there are going to be a few  more revelations to come out of this, one would think.

The wife and I were on that ride a few years back also. Sadly the thought of getting dropped into the conveyor system doesn't paint a pretty picture. Wife is hoping they get their arses sued big time which it's starting look very likely. Kinda feel for the ride operators having to witness what went down also the loss to all the families involved. Would be really surprised if the owners can survive after all this. Put money on the place being sold sometime after the inquest.

We (The wife, all the kids and I) were on the GC that week and decided against dreamworld having already done Seaworld, WnW & Movieworld.
We left the GC that day to drive back to Melbourne and our phones started going off with text messages checking in. Didn't realise the full extent until we got home and it was all over the news.

Left a pretty sick feeling in my stomach.

We took our kids on it about 15 years ago, and my Sons mate and wife were on it just a few days earlier than this tragedy while on their honeymoon.

The owners Ardent Leisure, wont be out of pocket other than the premium for the insurance policy that covers public liability. One can argue that the reputation of the business would suffer causing people to stay away yet the share price has remained high at $1.96 and infact their business was valued higher AFTER this tragic event. Sadly there is no penalty for moral responsibility. The directors that failed to act and put their bonus ahead of the safety of the park should be the ones accountable here.
