Shopmate - Parcel delivery service from the States

Though I would do a bit of a review on Shopmate.

Was looking for a method to get parcels from the states particularly when the seller won't send to Australia. Did a bit of a web search and found https://shopmate.auspost.com.au/ which is a freebie.

It really is as easy as they say. I have used it twice so far and would recommend it.

Cost - I have had 2 items send and they both were just under $50 each for around 3 kilo items. For one of the items there was a similar one on Ebay and the seller wanted $75 shipped to Australia so I saved about $25.

Packaging - Very good. Both items have arrived in a good box with lots of bubble wrap.

Timeframes - Pretty good - purchased in the states on the 5 June, delivered to Shopmate on the 8 June, invoice provided on the 9 June, paid shipping fee on the 11 June, tried to deliver to my home address on the 19 June, collected from the Post office 20 June - so just around 2 weeks. They also have  tracking so you can see where it is.

A couple of things to be aware of:
    - They won't send to a PO box
    - They want a signature on delivery. If no one is home they leave a card and you collect it from the local post office. This may be a problem if you work long hours during the week and the particular Post Office isn't open on a Sat. I my case it is great as the local Post Office is also a newsagent so open 7 days a week.
    - They want the tax invoice / receipt - I assume for insurance purposes but maybe also for GST collecting??   If the invoice isn't in the parcel they will send you an email and you need to send a copy of the invoice to them. For both items I have had sent so far they were Ebay purchases so I just forwarded the eBay email receipt to them and that was fine for them.

When you do the tracking interesting what route it travels in 10 days, a lot appears to go by a air standby system ? Delivery pick up for is via my private post box, 24 hr access.

To be honest I didn't look at the route so it may well be by air standby system?
In my spiel I also included the time it took from the Ebay seller to actually get to Shopmate. I paid the Shopmate invoice on the 11/06 and it was on my door step on the 19/06 - so probably 7 days door to door, which is pretty good based on other items I have bought in from the states.
