Has anybody had this problem, have an 01 Fxdl went for a ride today speedo stopped working then starts again when doing about 10km an hour but stops again when increase and no mileage reading but ok at idle indicators also not self cancelling , I have noticed now that all indicators flash then stop after ignition turned on and kill switch on I have cleaned speedo sensor which was dirty but still doing it

You lilkely have a VRR going bad....check it asap or it'll cook a bunch of stuff.

Hound dog I worked out how to check error codes it’s coming up with do8set which is over voltage I had a battery tender hooked up for a few hours before I went for a ride rode it for 40 kms Monday all ok until today

A battery tender wont overcharge...you should double check the VRR. Things can get very expensive when they start failing.

Hey hound dog I changed the regulator today all good now plug had heaps of oil in it probably why reg has gone will check it more often now

it's a good idea, to do a voltage check before you start bike, should have 12.5 - 13 , then keep volt meter hooked up & start bike check regulator working. speedo electric, gets the info from a sensor in gear box. I had a speedo on an 01 FXD stop & I replaced sensor, fixed it.
