Had the strangest phone call yesterday.
Answers phone yesterday, and what sounded like a chink spoke for maybe 30 seconds in a chink language without taking a breath, stops, then, says in english "chinese embacy". Then back to another 30 seconds speaking in chink language. Then hung up. On the second 30 second speak a thon, ide realised it was a recording cause i got the shits and said"  shut the fuck up and speak english ya stupid chink. But the speak just continued on. Only the two words in the middle of the recording were english and the whole recording,  was a speaker with a chink accent.
All very James Bondish im thinking. Then i got a bit worried. I thought if it was the chinese embacy, theyd have introduced themselves and spoke in person in english. Then i  thought, fuck, this might be a scam with fishing code downloaded in to my mobile phone via that chink recording. Maybe looking for bank details as i do phone banking sometimes.
I then rang police link to ask about this call. Thats the cop number you ring in QLD when you want to talk police without ringing 000. Police link told me that its a scam against chinese students. They said i had nothing to worry about regarding  my phone. They told me scammers a randomly ringing phone numbers hoping a young chinese student will answer the phone and being chinese will understand the message. There telling the chink students that they will be in trouble with the gov and deported if they dont pay money to the scammers pretending to be the embacy. Police link said its happening all over Australia and started a week or so ago.
I thought, must be a shit load of chink students in Australia if there randomly calling numbers and expecting to get hits on chinese students.
Anyway. The chink phone call mystery now solved and my phone not hacked.

    Funny,

I hung up on a co-worker a few weeks back thinking it was some Indian scam call, the Indian Metallurgist called back a few minutes later, said he gets that all the time, lucky he's got a sense of humor.....

Wouldnt surprise me. The reason I put it up here was like everyone else, Ive had all the scam calls over the years but in every case, the scammers spoke in English even though some with accents could hardly speak English. But thats when I had a home phone and home internet. I now only have a mobile and wi fi off its internet to a laptop. Thats the first scam call ive had on mobile ever. And ive had mobiles for years. First call ive had where the language was in a foreign language too. That what initially worried me.
Now local bank teller told me maybe no cash anymore in about 8 years. Gunna be a cluster fuck if that happens I reckon. With the internet sometimes shutting down, banks phone banking not working from time to time. And through personal experience, i still think the electronic banking, internet, paying by efpos at servos ect, is a fault ridden unstable piece of third world junk. Even the news sometimes reports some third world internet systems outperform Australia's.
